Setting Up a Match

Setting up a match in Coach Base takes you through three steps: match setup, attendance list, and match formation.

Starting a new match

On the Dashboard, tap Setup new match. Or go to Matches and tap the red + button.

Step 1: Match setup

Tap the edit icon on Teamshirt to customize your team's shirt for this match.

Fill in:

  • Opponent club name: search for the opponent's club by name, or type a custom name
  • Opponent team name (e.g. U15-3)

Then configure the match itself:

  • Venue location: Home or Away
  • Match date and start time
  • Match type (e.g. Competition)
  • Match settings: choose between Default team settings, Use other match as template, or Customize

Expand Advanced settings for:

  • Team: the team this match is set up for
  • Active period: the period this match belongs to
  • Relation code: an optional reference code

Tap Next to continue, or Cancel to discard the match.

Step 2: Attendance list

Each player from your team selection is listed and marked Present by default. Use the ... menu next to a player for more options, or tap the red X to remove them from the list.

Tap the red + button to add a player.

note

The Attendance request center becomes available once the match setup is complete.

Tap Next to continue, or Back to go to the previous step.

Step 3: Match formation

The Match formation screen shows your line-up and formation side by side. On the left, your players are listed with their shirt numbers - use the icons next to a player to set them as goalkeeper or captain for this match. On the right, the pitch shows your players already placed in a formation, which you can adjust by dragging them into position.

tip

Unlike the mobile apps, where lineup and formation are separate steps, Coach Base shows them together on one screen - so you can see the formation update as you make changes.

Tap Done to finish the setup.

What's next?

After tapping Done, you land in the matches overview. Unlike the Coach Amigo app, there's no guided next step - just open the match you just created to continue. For example, to use the Attendance request center, open the match and navigate from there.
